Based on our research, none of the rental companies in Aruba allow you to rent a car without paying a security deposit.

Most rental companies require a credit card to block a deposit amount as a security measure. This ensures coverage in case of damage and guarantees payment of the rental fee. Rental companies also believe that drivers tend to be more careful with the car when they know their deposit is at stake.

A few local rental companies may accept a cash deposit, but only for small amounts. Generally, rental companies at the airport do not accept cash deposits, but city locations may allow it.

Renting a car with someone else’s credit card

If you, as the main driver, cannot present a credit card in your own name when picking up the car, you will not be able to rent it. If a second driver has a credit card, you have two options:
